The City of Big Spring's annual seal-coat project is currently underway.  On Thursday, August 4, 2022, work crews will be seal-coating streets in the following area:

• Westover Road

• Scurry Street

• Main Street

• Matthews Avenue

• Texas Street

• East 24th Street

Motorists should prepare for delays near active work zones.  Your street access may be limited.  Reduce speed and stay alert. Signage and traffic control will be in place at each location as work progresses. Motorists should never try to enter or cross a lane where crews are placing seal-coat until the roadway is reopened.  After the street is open to traffic, please use extreme caution when stopping, starting, or backing out of your driveway. Turning the steering wheel while stopped will cause damage to the new surface during its curing stage. 

The public is asked to remove vehicles from specified roadways.  Vehicles will only need to be removed from the street while crews are working.  Towing of vehicles will only be done as a last resort.  During the project, the parking of vehicles on the sidewalk and/or yard will be permitted, but vehicles should be removed as soon as work is completed in the area.
