PRESS RELEASE: MAY 14, 2019 from the City of Big Spring
In February, Colorado River Municipal Water District drained Moss Creek Lake so that infrastructure improvements could be made to the area. As of, Friday, May 10, 2019, improvements have been completed and the lake has been refilled and is now open to the public. Please note that Moss Creek Lake is open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily with entry fees as follows:
Entry Permit Fee
$3/day entry fee per vehicle
Additional $0.50 per person not to exceed $5
Children 12 years of age or under and persons 65 years of age or older are FREE.
**Entry permit expires at 10:00 PM on the day of issue
Camping Fee
$9/day per vehicle
**Permit expires at Noon on the following day
RV Full Hook-Up
$15/day for full hook up (water, sewer, and electricity)
**Permit expires at Noon on the following day
RV Hook-Up
$12/day (water and electricity only)
**Permit expires at Noon on the following day
Boat / Jet Ski Launch Permit
$2/day per vessel, in addition to any other use permit required
**Permit expires at the same time of any other permit purchased
Motorcycle Course
$5/day per motorbike, in addition to any other use permit required
**Permit expires at the same time of any other permit purchased
Yearly Permit
$100/year which includes day entry permit, boat launch, and camping. Permit is limited to immediate family members residing in same household.
