THE BIG SPRING FIRE DEPARTMENT IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR CERTIFIED FIREFIGHTER/EMT 

Entry level Firefighter/EMT testing is scheduled for September 8, 2023, at 8 a.m.  The application deadline is 5 p.m. on September 6, 2023.

The City of Big Spring Fire Department is a Civil Service organization governed by the Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 143. All applicants seeking an entry-level position must successfully complete the entire hiring process as necessary to maintain a hiring eligibility list.   An outline of the hiring process is available on the Fire Department Employment Opportunities page.  Each stage of the hiring process must be successfully completed before proceeding to the next step.  Failure to successfully complete any of the hiring events will result in rejection in accordance with the rules established by the City of Big Spring Firefighters Civil Service Commission.
