  2. Airpark / Industrial Park

    The Airpark Department operates and maintains the Big Spring McMahon-Wrinkle Airport and Industrial Park. This includes management of the airport, all associated buildings and equipment, and the railroad spur connecting the Airpark with the mainline railroad.

  3. Cemetery

    Cemetery personnel are responsible for the care and upkeep of the city cemetery grounds including lots and graves not maintained by other organizations.

  4. Development

  5. Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB)

    The mission of the Big Spring Convention and Visitors Bureau shall be to promote travel, tourism and related businesses in Big Spring, Texas.

  6. Finance

    The Finance Department is responsible for safeguarding the financial resources of the city by maintaining central accounting records and city bank accounts, disbursing all city obligations, general financial forecasting and annual budget and audit preparation.

  7. Fire Department

    The Big Spring Fire Department is a dedicated team of professionals who provide a response to any situation that involves life safety and preservation of property, in a safe and timely manner, until the conclusion of the situation.

  8. Golf Course

    The Comanche Trail Municipal Golf Course in an 18 hole course tucked against the hills on the south end of Big Spring.

  9. Human Resources

    The mission of the Human Resources Department is to help the City of Big Spring departments attract, motivate, and develop qualified, diverse and productive employees.

  10. Information Technology

    The mission of the Information Technology Department is to deliver quality Information technology services and support for City of Big Spring employees and the community.

  11. Legal

    It is the mission of the Legal Department to provide the highest quality legal representation, advice and services to the city in a cost efficient manner to protect the interests of the City of Big Spring, the Big Spring City Council and City Administration.

  12. Municipal Court

    The Big Spring Municipal Court is presided over by the Honorable Timothy Green. Judge Green is charged to provide a neutral, courteous, and fair forum for the trial of all Class C misdemeanor offenses arising under Texas civil and criminal statutes and City of Big Spring ordinances.

  13. Parks & Recreation

    The Parks Department operates the city's parks and recreation facilities to provide family-oriented recreational areas in order to contribute to the high quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

  14. Police Department

    The members of the Big Spring Police Department strive to respond to the law enforcement needs of the citizens working with the community using cooperative dialogue, through crime prevention interdiction, and maintaining an adaptive attitude to provide quality service.

  15. Public Works

    Provide executive and administrative support and oversight to public utilities and facilities.

  16. Purchasing

    The Purchasing and Material Control Department coordinates the purchase of like items between various city departments in an effort to take advantage of volume pricing.

  17. Senior Center

    Our mission at the Big Spring Senior Center is to provide, develop and oversee programs relating to senior adult issues.

  18. Service Center

    The Service Center provides vehicle and heavy equipment repair and preventive maintenance for all city departments.
